Co-Lede at Lede New Orleans

Building community for civic learning and information sharing

Thriving communities need trusted spaces where residents can discuss local news, and get support accessing and sharing reliable information with their families and neighbors.

Co-Lede is a series of free, in-person gatherings designed to help locals deepen community connections and take part in exploring and sharing local information and resources. Built on a community of practice model, the program brings together participants from across New Orleans for collaborative learning, civic engagement and thoughtful dialogue about local issues.

About Co-Lede

Through monthly meetups, participants examine local issues through history, lived experience, research and storytelling. Workshops range from conversations with local civic leaders, advocates and journalists to hands-on workshops and field trips that help community members sharpen their skills in research, media literacy and civic leadership. Participants also get the opportunity to co-create a grassroots media project inspired by their learning.

Workshops are open to people from all backgrounds who bring curiosity, respect and a willingness to learn. Meals, drinks, and travel stipends are provided to support participation.
